 Well, here we are.  The year is almost over and we have not used our blog in two years??? I feel a change coming... We shall return.

 No, I don't remember that because it was a very long time ago.  Specifically on LiveJournal.  My LiveJournal does still exist.  I log in about once a year to keep it active, and it's linked to one of my Twitter accounts. This is just a random entry to keep this blog active.  HA! It's Saturday morning.  I have a file queued up and ready to be transcribed.  Generation Wealth is playing on the TV.  One guess about what it's about.  Check out the documentary film (https://www.generation-wealth.com/) so you can reevaluate your life and what you want vs. what you need to be happy.

Wow. It's been a year since the Covid outbreak was declared a pandemic. Definitely did not think it would last more than a couple months. It's been tougher than I'd like to admit, but could've been worse, so I'm thankful I've been able to survive the year (with no health issues) and grateful I was able to keep my head above water this whole time. Unfortunately, it is still ongoing and the end is nowhere in sight (thanks to our so-called leaders making very poor decisions, and disillusioned individuals so blinded by hatred they can't see past their own stupidity). It's been nearly one year (next week) that I've been to my main job (primary source of income) but I've been blessed with a salary to help me through this time. It's enable me to survive, and I was actually able to not have to use my savings ... until recently. Ouch. I was already pretty much a germaphobe (like, really, people are kinda nasty) and homebody before the pandemic, so not...

  On December 23 rd … no.   Let me go back.   Even before the Covid pandemic started I had been thinking of finally adopting another cat.   It’s been years since my boy Bruce Lee passed away after all.   I even ran in Petco a couple times to see cats up for adoption.   But the pandemic hit, there was lockdown. I just stayed home. A lot. Like, more than usual. Cut to October 2020, maybe even before that, and kitty fever is striking.   It’s time.   Finally.   Even Bruce Lee thought so, since he kept bringing me cats in dreams.   So I went inside Petco, fell in love with a little orange tabby, sent a text asking about him, filled out an application, interviewed and played with him.   Then, NOTHING.   (To this day, nothing.)   I had been looking online for adoptable cats too and went back to look at a cat I’d liked (even sent his picture with others to my mom and best friend) and asked if he was still available.   ...

Recently learned I am Vitamin D deficient.  Due to covid, a lot more people are probably deficient from staying indoors a lot more.  Anywho, doc prescribed supplements.  I am starting to wonder if this had anything to do with my hair recently going very dry and falling out.  I also had a recent scalp psoriasis flare up.  Add stress to that and I'd think that's some pretty good causes for my hair suddenly changing.  Oh, and also add that I pretty much stopped eating red meat.  Now it all makes sense. Hopefully, the Vit D supplements help, along with walks outside during the week.  I was taking a hair, skin, nail biotin supplement, but I am looking into taking collagen instead, to make up for not eating much beef and chicken. Any suggestions, advice, thoughts?

Just a quick post about a few updates made. 1.     The blog title has been changed to Plucking Flowers Blogging. 2.     The blog will include more content than just information related to transcription and apps.  I will add more posts and include ties to my Twitch.TV channel. 3.     The page layout and theme have been changed (though I am not 100% satisfied and may revert back to a simpler layout). 4.     No.  No four.  That's about it.  Oh, the About Me blip has been updated.

How long does it take to type one (1) hour of audio? The standard is four (4) hours to transcribe one hour of audio, or 4:1. This is the norm for CLEAR audio. This is especially helpful with a foot pedal. Bad, muffled audio and multiple speakers is a whole other story. Also, time stamping is a factor.

I will probably drive myself nuts in the next several weeks but, hey, #itypealot.

I have a foot pedal but I learned how to transcribe without one. Any transcriptionist with years of experience should be able to pull off transcribing without the aid of a foot pedal. This was in response to an ad for transcribers. Many companies will require you to have a foot pedal. If you don't, you'll have to purchase one before you are able to begin any work it seems. It is a smart investment but, as I said, if you've been transcribing for years, you likely don't need one.
