Formerly known as Transcription n' Typing Blog, this is just a little blog about my experiences, transcribing, health & exercise, and live streaming, with mentions of job searching and psoriasis, and whatever else might be going on at the moment.
Recently learned I am Vitamin D deficient. Due to covid, a lot more people are probably deficient from staying indoors a lot more. Anywho, doc prescribed supplements. I am starting to wonder if this had anything to do with my hair recently going very dry and falling out. I also had a recent scalp psoriasis flare up. Add stress to that and I'd think that's some pretty good causes for my hair suddenly changing. Oh, and also add that I pretty much stopped eating red meat. Now it all makes sense. Hopefully, the Vit D supplements help, along with walks outside during the week. I was taking a hair, skin, nail biotin supplement, but I am looking into taking collagen instead, to make up for not eating much beef and chicken. Any suggestions, advice, thoughts?
Wow. It's been a year since the Covid outbreak was declared a pandemic. Definitely did not think it would last more than a couple months. It's been tougher than I'd like to admit, but could've been worse, so I'm thankful I've been able to survive the year (with no health issues) and grateful I was able to keep my head above water this whole time. Unfortunately, it is still ongoing and the end is nowhere in sight (thanks to our so-called leaders making very poor decisions, and disillusioned individuals so blinded by hatred they can't see past their own stupidity). It's enable me to survive, and I was actually able to not have to use my savings ... until recently. Ouch. I was already pretty much a germaphobe (like, really, people are kinda nasty) and homebody before the pandemic, so not...
There are so many of us without employment these days. Is that an understatement? Maybe I should say there are TOO many of us without employment. I was laid off in 2008 from a job I'd been at for over six years. I didn't like it there so much at first but it grew on me and what I really loved about it was being busy. I was lucky enough to get a contract position soon after. That only lasted a couple weeks but I made enough of an impression to be asked back a few months later, which turned into a long-term contract that ended after two years. The permanent position that was supposed to come after that... didn't. Another contract position followed, which has ended. I guess you could say that ended at the right time because my psoriasis was flaring up (I had, no have, a very flaky face, neck and chest). So right now, I find myself again in between jobs (real ones). Most of my day is spent trailing the job sites, clicking Apply N...
